I just completed the challenge!!

Earlier tonight I was walking home from the train station as I always do, and there was a restaurant 1 block away that usually doesn’t have that many customers, so the hostess is always standing there by herself. Well, today there was a hostess there that I didn’t recognize. Actually, it didn’t even register in my head until I had walked past the restaurant by about 50 feet, and it clicked in my head, “Man Cannon— there was a gilr there, standing by herself, looking bored, and she had really nice legs. GO!”

So I turned around and went back:

me: Hi.
her: HI. Dinner for 1?
me: Oh, I’m not here to have dinner… I just came here to give you this Valentine’s Day card.
her: [sounding really confused] For…. me?!?
me: Yeah. I know that I don’t know you and all, but here….. I just wanted you to have this.
her: Oh thank you!

At this precise moment, a HUGE smile flashed on her face as she opened the card and read the cheese-dick inscription on it. It said something like “ahoy matey! Have an adventurous Valentine’s day!” with a picture of a pirate on it from Pirates of the Caribbean. This girl was BT spiking through the roof!

her: William, right? (as she was reading my name on the card)
me: Yes. So….. will you be my Valentine?
her: Yes I will!
me: Great! Now, I actually can’t meet you on the Thursday, because I have to work late that day, but could we meet on the Friday?

Now, the truth is that I couldn’t meet her on the Thursday because I already had a date on Valentine’s day.

her: Oh, I can’t I’m meeting my parents on Friday night! They’re flying in from Shanghai.
me: Darn! I’m going to be upstate on Saturday and Sunday! But… I’ll be home on Sunday night…
her: Hmm… that might work. Call me!
me: Sure thing. Here, punch your number into my phone.
her: She does it.
me: Good night!
her: Good night, Valentine!

First try dudes.

Now, go out there and make Johnny Wolf proud!
