Some of you have noticed my shaving set in my bathroom on my episode of puacribs and have asked me about it. So here’s a PUA’s guide to shaving.

Advantages of Traditional Gentleman’s Shaving
You get a cleaner, closer shave
It feels nice to pamper yourself
You smell good during and after the shave
Traditions are being upheld
It is a very masculine thing to shave properly
You have a ritual you can show women
It is a DHV to have a nice shaving set

Dis-Advantages of Traditional Gentleman’s Shaving
It is very time consuming – I wasted a lot of hours researching it
You’ll end up spending a lot of money on products
You have to be more cautious when you shave or you’ll cut yourself
It takes longer to prepare and shave

But if you want to do it still, here’s my newbie quick startup guide

What you need to buy:

Optionally you can also get a stand for your set, and a nicer bowl. There are sets that you can buy from Crabtree and Evelyn or Art of Shaving, and online, but they are expensive. The products I recomended above is my personal setup, and I chose them after months of research. I obviously have no affiliation or financial ties from any of the stores or products recomended.

They were chosen for being the best quality at the best price. You can do your own research, but I warm you, it’s very time consuming, so just trust me and get the stuff I got. By the way, if you didn’t know, I live in Los Angeles, so the stores/websites might be different in London. But you guys have a very long traditional of DE Shaving so it shouldn’t be too hard to find.
