What does it take to become a Master Pick Up Artist?

Topics: Secrets

A very interesting topic was brought up on the socallair today, Juelzusa asked:

“What are some of the traits and skills to become a great Pick Up Artist (not just good…BUT GREAT). In terms of characteristics, skills, traits, etc..”

My response:

I’ve hung out with most of the top PUAs and Gurus around the world and from my experience to get really really good there are two paths:

The first, which I’m trying to pursue, is to be extremely open minded, and constantly evolving. Being willing to forever undergo having an ego and accepting constructive criticism from everyone and knowing that you can always learn more, and you can learn from anyone.

An example of this is when I was hosting the PUA Summit this year, I made it a point to introduce the speaker, and then sit in the audience and listen to the entire speech. I learned from than anyone in the audience that weekend because I kept an open mind to learn from everyone.

Specific Skills this helps you with:

Calibration - This is a skill that takes years of experience to learn, but when you get this down, everything goes that much smoother.

Adaptation - The equivalent to a chameleon changing it’s colors to adapt to the surroundings. This allows you to be able to fit into any crowd.

Customized Game: Having studied enough methods, I took the bits and pieces from each one that works well for me and I exclude the ones that don’t. In the end, I have a very unique style.

Now the second path is a bit different, and it really isn’t a path at all, it’s more of a personality trait. I’ve noticed that a lot of the best PUA’s in the world have some degree of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Usually they have had an OCD hobby before pick up which they mastered whether it be a Level 96 Mage with Diamond-Gold Armor in World of War Craft, a World Championship Tournament Magic the Gathering Player, or a Magician that tries to be the best illusionist in the world. Then there’s also the guys with dilusional confidence, or other peronality/mental problems where they use pick up as an escape out of their reality.

But the real question is, why do you want to be a master pick up artist?

It’s attainable to get the skills using the PUA communities teachings to become good with women, even really good, in a sense where you have regular sex with good looking women, and be able to have hot girlfriends. Now to become a Master Pick Up Artist, comes with a lot of costs, and it doesn’t neccisarly mean you’ll have better girlfriends or more sex. Naturals still get laid more than community guys do, and it’s because they’re not going out to the club to impress other men, they’re doing it to meet women.

It’s funny that a lot of our bootcamp alumus stop posting in forums after they take a bootcamp, because even though they came into it wanting to become a mPUA someday, and some still do, the other half realize, they became good enough to get good looking girlfriends and that’s enough for them.

So ask yourself, what do you really want?

Warm Regards,

Johnny Wolf
