Austin Texas Baby!
Hey I just got back from Austin Texas, and all I can say is Yeehaw!
It was my first time in Texas, and we had two students out there for a bootcamp. If you ever visit Austin, check out 6th street for a ton of college bars and 4th street for some really amazing clubs. The coolest thing about Austin is that they have world class clubs, that are on par or even better than LA and Vegas clubs as far as layout and decorations go, but there is no bullshit getting in with lines, and most places don’t even charge cover!
As far as pick up goes, it’s definetely a social circle town, and not a cold approach, same night lay kinda place. People are friendly, but definetely very cliqish. The sharktank you see above is at a club called Qua, where the dance floor is made of glass and there are sharks swiming underneth! Amazing huh?
If you’re reading this and havn’t decided where to go to college yet…..apply to University of Texas at Austin, aka UT. Trust me, you’ll have your best fucking years of life there. And join a frat…fuck it, take the hazing, paid the dues, just do it, it’s a total college town and you’ll love it.
The other best thing about Texas is the BBQ! There was a place near downtown called “The Iron Works” that was really good. But the ultimate texas bbq is 40 miles into the country at a place called “Salt Lick” it’s well worth the drive…just make sure you dedicate half a day to going there, hanging out and eating, since there’s always an hour wait and it’s an hours drive outside of downtown austin.
Get it family style, and for $18.99 you can have your filling of ribs, tri-tip and sasuage with all the sides. It’s basically all you can eat. This is a dry town, so they don’t serve alcohol, so the funny thing is, everyone brings in a cooler filled with their own beers! It’s quite fun actually. If you’re ever in austin, you MUST try this place.
