Hey man, I never thanked you for changing my life the first time around with the game. So I figured before you got bombared with thank you emails for Emergency I thought I’d shoot you one first.
Your writing style is so captivating that I can never put your books down. The only other two authors that I can say that about are Chuck Palahniuk and Tim Ferris. Well, mainly chuck, but I got to give Tim credit for changing my life.
I started reading Emergency on the plane ride over from San Francisco to Koh Tao, Turtle Island Thailand…
and finished your book while trekking through the jungle, attempting to survive on coconuts and bananas I found on the way, but like you, I grew up as a city boy, and for the last three years, my idea of roughing it was walking from the standard back to my car at the saddle ranch while wearing uncomfortable yet fashionable boots.
Luckily, there is life after “the game” and recently, about six months ago back in November I found it, and decided to semi quit teaching bootcamps and move to Koh Tao to train as a professional scuba diver. As a rescue diver I had to go through CPR and Emergency First Response courses, I took a Seinshido Knife Defense class after getting out asses kicked in Las Vegas for stealing a hot blonde from some guys along with two other puas that couldn’t defend themselves either.
Thank you for your inspiration once again, my jungle bungalow is now stocked up with whole wheat biscuits, cans of baked beans, and jugs of water. If shit hits the fan and you need a place in Thailand to hide out, my bungalow is all yours man.
