I’ve always thought, If you don’t have sex on your birthday, you’ll have bad luck with sex for the rest of the year. I’m not sure if I heard this somewhere or just made it up, but I truly believe it, which is why every year for my birthday I make sure I’m either dating someone or having a party where the logistics are good for getting laid.

Last year I threw a huge party at my friend’s mansion in Los Angeles, actually he was a previous bootcamp student who was so grateful for what he learned he volunteered his house to me, which was pretty cool. This year, it was at my small one bedroom place, but luckily I have a pretty big front yard where I was able to throw the party.

The Logistics:

The reason why I never have my birthday party somewhere public is because logistics suck at public venues, and logistics is what gets you laid. If you have your party at a nightclub or bar, you have to deal with all the other random people there, and pay for expensive drinks. Here are the some problems with that:

1 – Bad logistics – The way most guys end up getting laid after a bar or club is by bringing the girl back to their place, so why not just start there?

2 – Expensive drinks – When you’re paying $8 a drink people aren’t going to really let loose and have fun. But if you just buy $100 worth of alcohol from your local market and drink at your house, everyone gets crazy.

3- AMOGs and Cockblocks – Since it’ll be a private party at your home, everyone is expected to know each other, at least through a mutual friend, guys stop trying to hit on girls as hard and friends stop trying to cock block or protect them.

The Ratio:

Since it’s your party, it’s up to you to make it an amazing one, or a shitty one. I like to make mine good, so I make sure I invite plenty of girls. Last year I used evite.com to invite, and keep in touch with everyone I met. This year I printed out invitations with maps to my place. Both work well, but I like evite since it allows you to email them once a week to remind them, as well as the day of.

Both years I invite 4 girls for every guy, and ask guys to bring two girls each. It’d be nice if they all turn up, but that’s never the case, at least this way you’ll have twice as many girls as guys most of the time, and in the worst case scenario you’ll have an even ratio. This year it was 2:1 girls to guys, but last year was even better at 3:1.
The reason why it’s important to have a favorable girl to guy ratio is because girls will start to compete with each other for your attention, and the guys won’t start getting a scarcity mentality, which ruins everything. Often the best girls you’ll hook up with are the ones that friends bring, not the ones you’ve invited yourself. If your friend is hooking up with a girl you brought, he’ll happily trade you for one of his.

The target(s):

The best thing about being the host of the party, or the birthday boy is that you’re expected to talk to everyone, so it’s easily to bounce around from girl to girl. With every girl I try to quickly isolate them by either offering to make them a cocktail, giving them a tour or showing them something. Last night it was easy since the bar was outside a little away from the crowd, and it was easily to say hey it’s loud here, lets go for a walk. I ended up kissing three different girls, two from Amsterdam, and a French girl.

The two Dutch girls from Holland were friends, so I figured that I’d have to go for a threesome or lose both, so I tried to get both of them into a threesome with no luck. That allowed me to focus my attention on the girl from France instead, which turned out to be a great idea.
