A lot of people take bootcamps and get great results from them, but don’t actually know why they work. Then there are people that think they don’t need a bootcamp and think they can do it on their own. Either way, I wanted to expose the real reasons why.

10 reasons why Bootcamps Exist and Why they Work

There are a couple reasons why bootcamps get consistent results. First, just the fact that you sign up for the bootcamp, you are admitting to yourself that you need help, and that there is someone that is more knowledgeable out there that can help you. This leaves your Ego checked at the door, which is a huge obstacle for most other guys.

Second, is the investment. When you invest three days of your life, and thousands of dollars, you are making a commitment to better yourself and you will do whatever is possible to make sure you get your moneys worth by improving.

Third, you have fellow students that are just as committed as you are that you can learn and grown along side with. You look at them and realize that you’re not alone, and others have just as much difficultly, if not more with women. If they can do it, you can do it.

Fourth, you can’t give yourself excuses because your instructor won’t let you. If you have a good instructor, he will truly care about you and will want to see you reach your potential, so there is no way in hell he’s going to let you bitch out and give excuses. He’ll push you to your limits and break you if he has to. Then he’ll rebuild you stronger than ever.

Fifth, you will learn an entire structure from beginning to end. This is something that guys have a really hard time piecing together on their own, is a complete structure. When you read or watch material, they are for specific parts of pick up, example, amogging, frame control, openers, negs, etc. But its really difficult for someone to take all of it and put it into a proper A-Z structure on their own.

Sixth, bootcamps give you individual tailor made help. Even though there is a predetermined lecture, a good instructor will always personalize it to what you need most, and will use the time they have with with you in field to make sure you get over that sticking point, even if you were unaware of it yourself.

Seventh, top instructors are innovative. Which means, you are learning new fresh material that you can’t find anywhere online or in a book. Even though gurus post articles, tactics and techniques, they normally only share the latest stuff with their bootcamp students. By the time they decide to release it to the public, it’s usually old and dated.

Eighth, accountability. During bootcamp you get specific missions and goals that you must complete. When you’re doing it on your own, you can cheat yourself by telling yourself you understand, without truly understanding it through practice.

Ninth, instructors will point out and correct little things that are seriously holding you back, such as your body language, coming out too needy or desperate, having an ego, or other things that are almost impossible for you to self-correct.

Tenth, instructors who have taught a lot of bootcamps (30+) have enough experience to know what they can cut out and what is actually valuable. There is sooo much information out there, but most of it isn’t immediately useful. A good instructor can help you cut out what doesn’t get you laid.

Good luck on whatever you chose to do, and whomever you chose to do it with.

Warm Regards,

Hey guys, I wanted to share this review that one of my students from last weekends bootcamp up in San Francisco wrote. He was a great kid with zero experience that ended up making out with a hot white girl on the second night. They made out for hours that night, which was…….well just read it, i’ll let him explain.

Written by suave (on the forums)

I’ve been waiting to write this bootcamp report for the longest time, but now I finally get to write one after getting back from NYC.

to talk briefly about my background, I grew up in Asia up until high school and only got to came to the states 5ish years ago. I’ve always been the go-getter and the one who always has to achieve what he wants. for the past couple years, relationships came by pretty easily so I didn’t really feel the need to game anyone. but it was after I broke up with my most recent one that I felt the need to game. and it was after reading The Game and about the pua community did I finally feel compelled to take this bootcamp. in terms of experience, before this bootcamp, I was as novice as anyone could get. I hadn’t really talked to any strangers in clubs or tried to. I didn’t even know what an opener was before reading The Game and never got numbers from anyone, but in the back of my mind I always thought someday that perfect woman will come by and it will just happen naturally. ok, enough with my background.

Day 1:
We went to a rather small club/bar/lounge. when we first went in i was a bit overwhelmed because of the sheer size of the club, meaning whatever I did there could probably be seen by everyone else there, and because the majority of them were guys and there were hardly any all-girls sets.
I wanted to warm up so I just started talking to random guys there to see what’s up and that got me to transition that into talking to the girls in the club.
now, I have very little to no approach anxiety and I proved that by approaching every single that Kevin asked me to. Throughout the night, I opened around 20-25 sets and the first several sets I opened went no where. One girl I wasn’t even talking to pushed me out of her set when I opened her friend. It was fun though. One thing I did was set I plowed through every single set to see how far I could go regardless of what they said or their reaction to my presence in their set. By the end of the night I got 2 numbers and gave out my number to one because she didn’t have her phone with her and got to the point where I didn’t have any more sets to open. This was pretty damn off the hook for me because I knew I tried my best and got numbers.

sticking points: I didn’t transition from my opener to other things as I oftentimes dwelled on my openers. I didn’t demonstrate DHVs enough. When I was in a set I tended to ask too many questions instead of me making statements and having them lead our conversations. I also noticed that I didn’t kino as much.

Day 2:
We went to a bigger club/lounge than the one we went to the night before. The very first girl I saw, I opened spontaneously and she seemed really receptive and I invited her to our table and told her I’d talk to her later that night. The first floor was rather empty because the night seemed to have just started so we went up stairs to warm up. I didn’t even know this 3 set in the corner but Kevin pushed me into them and that’s when the night started. There was a white HB 8 (TN) and two Asian girls. Initially, I couldn’t even decide who my target was, but I found myself talking to TN more. Instantly, we had common things to talk about because I’m from out of state and she was from tennessee and her friends were from guam and another out of state. I transitioned to a new topic every time I noticed there a sign of our convo stalling. When I sensed that I warmed the set enough, I invited them downstairs to have some drinks. Even as we were going downstairs, I didn’t really get the strong feeling that TN was my target, but I instinctively pulled her out of the set once we got downstairs. Sitting side by side, we talked about everything from childhood to music and food. Her friends came up to her multiple times to check to see if she’s doing okay or to possibly pull her out, and it was clear that they were not having as good a time she was having. Johnny taught us how to handle situations like that and it was money when I used it in that exact situation, especially when I knew that TN wanted to stay with me. After we had our drinks, she wanted to dance upstairs, and up we went. As we were dancing, I could definitely feel that she was attracted to me as I was to her. After a while, the music upstairs was not really conducive to dancing, so we made out. That was the entire night. We danced, talked more, made out, and I got her number. Because she drove her friends to the club and had to drive them back, we couldn’t really take it to the next level, but it was still mind-boggling for me.

Day 3:
Off we went day gaming in SF. Johnny taught us the basics and we applied what we learned immediately. The first set I approached turned out she was from France. I took French in high school and have been there couple times. The lame attempt on my part in showing off my French made her laugh and I transitioned that into getting to know her more and eventually her number. Throughout the day, I approached other sets and they either didn’t speak good English or didn’t really want to get bothered. Later that night, we got on L Train for our alumni dinner. Another bootcamp student was standing right next to this HB9 and I told Johnny and Kevin: “if I were there, I would totally approach her.” Johnny called him over and I went right in. It was probably the most interesting set I opened because she was from Spain and pretty much didn’t understand anything I was saying. I was going to be in NYC that weekend so I suggested we hang out once we come back but she told me she is going back to Spain that weekend and said if I had been here that weekend she would have chilled with me. I still managed to get her MSN and we parted our ways.

Overall, my bootcamp was a transcending experience that opened my eyes. All the tactics and skills Johnny instilled in us were subtle but extremely powerful and I’m grateful for what I learned during my bootcamp.

Johnny Wolf: Thanks a lot for really trying to make sure we absorb everything being taught, especially, “I’m curious,” haha. The way the bootcamp was structured, short lecture and a lot more practice sessions, was the way to go and I really do respect the skills that you developed that led you to become who you are today and your advice for me. Thanks a bunch again and keep it real.

Kevin: Throughout bootcamp, I worked with you most of the time and I truly had a blast working with you. To me you are my big bro who keeps encouraging me to look forward and giving me constructive criticism. Thank you so much for everything during the bootcamp and I hope we sarge together in the near future!

To anyone who is considering bootcamp, seriously, this is THE transformational experience and something you will look back on and consider it as the turning point in your life.
Thank you again for Johnny and Kevin for making the bootcamp filled with fun and excitement and, of course, life-changing.

YOU ARE WELCOME! By the way, Kevin is our new intern and customer service rep. He took the bootcamp with the ABCs of Attraction twice! Once 7 months ago with me as the lead instructor, and a 2nd time this past summer with JT aka the Asian Playboy. His skills have improved so much, that we are now training him to become an approach coach. But right now he’s still an intern on our 2 month challenge to mastery!

For more information on bootcamps visit www.ABCofAttraction.com

We have programs scheduled in: Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Thailand, Sydney, and Melborune Australia

I was on train going from Los Angeles down to San Diego during Comic-con weekend. My cousin is a big comic book fan and got a hotel there for the weekend…I decided to go visit. So i’m on the train and I’m talking to a cute blonde girl that turned out to be a huge anime fan…she started showing me pictures of her costumes while we shared food and a seat. Then we noticed a guy that looked like Hiro Nakamura from Heroes.

We looked closer and asked this random amazingly hot girl if that was him, and she said…”Shhh, yes, that’s Masi Oka, but don’t say it too loud, I don’t want people to recognize us.”

Recognize us? I thought…who was this girl. She was beautiful, sext as fuck and either half black or hispanic looking. I really couldn’t tell because she was wearing sunglasses.

She turned out to be Maya Herrera from Heroes too! You know…the girl who cries tears.

So of course I decide to switch targets, and end up sitting with Maya…I mean Dania for the next hour gaming away. Turns out she’s really bright, and driven. We talked about how most people arn’t passionate and don’t follow their ambitions and really connected on that level. She even suggested that we hook up for tea when we get back to LA. Turns out she was going down to Comic-con to promote season two of Heroes Villians. All the sudden, the original blonde comes up to us and tells me she’s getting off soon, and wants to exchange numbers. I politely decline and tell her just to find me on facebook, and that it was good meeting her. She seems really pissed and jealous that I dropped her for Dania, but come on! Who wouldn’t? Dania encourged me to get the blondes number as she was waiting by the door uncomfortably till the next stop. She said we looked cute together. Which maybe we did, but I had my eyes focused on something much more beautiful, Maya. Plus I felt like we actually did have a lot in common. But from a pick up point of view, the blonde helped by adding social proof and preselection, but it also hurt me in the end by making it uncomfortable. We never did do tea, but it was defientely an adventure on amtrak.

Oh and by the way, if Hiro wasn’t famous, he’d need to take a bootcamp. He was sooo fucking beta it made me sick. Maya treated and took care of him like her little retarded brother, which he was acting like.

Hot off the press! New season debuts Sunday, Oct. 12 at 10/9c on VH1!

Based on the tremendous viewer response to the series The Pickup Artist, VH1 has once again teamed up with world renowned pickup guru Mystery to help guide nine new “socially awkward” students overcome their biggest fears - meeting women. As we saw last season, Mystery has developed a foolproof formula for these men to follow, whether they’re in a bar, club or coffee shop. Through his various teachings and in-the-field tests, Mystery will prepare these men with the skills they need to overcome their shyness and confidence issues in the real world. The Pickup Artist 2 premieres on VH1 on Sunday, October 12 at 10:00 PM.

The Pickup Artist 2 brings a new twist to the show, as Mystery and Season 1 wing-man and fellow pickup artist Matador are joined by new wing-girl Tara. Viewers may remember Tara as Season 1’s kissing coach. In this second season she will expand her role by adding a female perspective. Tara will serve as full time wing-girl to Mystery and act as a confidant for the contestants.

This season, The Pickup Artist 2 moves to Phoenix, AZ, as the guys sample the local night life in hopes of perfecting their skills and winning the title of “Master Pickup Artist.” In each episode, one contestant will be declared the winner of a challenge and granted immunity from elimination, while the loser will be sent packing. The challenges this season are even more intense — and personal. The dating neophytes will be tested in a local supermarket, a charity auction and various area nightclubs outfitted with hidden cameras that capture women’s real responses to the contestants’ come-ons.

“It’s certainly no mystery why we’ve partnered again with Mystery. He already had a legion of followers from his book when we launched The Pickup Artist series last year, and now he’s grown into a pop culture phenomenon. He’s even been parodied on Saturday Night Live – a true indicator of water cooler buzz,’” said Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming & Production.

“This series is so much more than just how to pick up a woman. It’s about instilling confidence in these young men. As each week goes by, you cheer on this crew of socially awkward men who ultimately flourish with some hard observations of themselves, gut-wrenching experiences in the field and even a little TLC.”

In the end, only one guy will remain and be worthy of the title Pick-Up Artist. Whoever claims this title will also win the cash prize of $50,000 to use towards his new social life. Catch The Pickup Artist 2 on VH1, premiering Sunday, October 12 at 10:00 PM*

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: If you live in Southern California, join the SoCalLair (www.socallair.com) and watch the premire live on october 12th, with a SURPISE GUEST, whom we can’t disclose right now!!!

Enjoy pizza, drinks, and stay to meet and greet and ask questions.

If you want to experience what it’s like to take a bootcamp yourself, check out www.abcofattraction.com

Okay so the girl in NY that I was making out with all night opened me, because I had utilized something I call, “situational peacocking” which is something I should probely write an entire post about…maybe that’ll be next. But basically, I would look and feel liek a fucking retard if I went clubbing in something as random and loud as a red robe. HOWEVER, because the bar had red robes laying around (for when people get cold…it was on the roof of a new york bar) I decided to BE THE FIRST to put one on. And because of that, I was unique and stood out.

She comes up and SHIT TESTS me, by asking why I was wearing that…and instead of freaking out, I saw it as an oppertunity to game. (see my post about why shit tests are like buying a laptop) Anyways, I hold my confidence and frame, and start kinoing a lot right off the bat. She was there with a really shy guy, who I thought was her boyfriend…everyoine thought it was her boyfriend all night, but that didn’t stop me…it turned out to be her cousin or something, but anyways, I kino esclated, pumped up her buying tempatature, got her to sit down with me, and kissed her. She gave me some push back since her cousin was right here…so I lead her downstairs where we made out heavily and I tried to fuck her in the bathroom.

Anyways, check back next week for a post about situtional peacocking =)

Winter is coming up which is always slow bootcamp schedule wise…I think it’s because people have family things like Thanksgiving, and Christmas, as well are more expenses. Holidays are a great time for people to spend time with friends and family, but it’s even better to spend it with an amazing girl that you’re really into. So picking up now if you want a girlfriend in time for the holidays!

I went shopping for a new Gym Membership the otherday, and realized something.

Gyms make money by counting on most people to NOT USE them to its fullest potential. They set it up so they give you all the equipment, classes, knowledge, and facilities needed to get in shape, but the one thing they don’t do is call you when you don’t use it. This is what I call accountability.

A basic gym membership is extremely cheap and under priced compared to how much it’s actually worth. (Consider how much it would cost you an even 100 friends to rent a building of that size, buy all the equipment, hire staff, pay utilities, hire instructors for free classes, and maintain it, it would be a lot more than $59 a month)

Facts:

90% of people that sign up for gym memberships don’t use them more than a few times a year.

All gyms can get you in shape if you dedicate yourself and just do it.

Gyms will lose money if everyone that signs up for a membership actually showed up and used it.

So what does this have to do with pick up?

90% of people that study pick up either for free on the internet, or buy a product don’t use it to it’s fullest advantage.

Almost all pick up material out there can get you results with women if you use it correctly and consistently, just like how any piece of exercise equipment can get you in shape.

Most pick up gurus and companies give away a ton of free or sell very low cost material that can get you results if actually used to it to its fullest potential.

Bootcamps and repeat customers wouldn’t be needed if everyone had the motivation, dedication and more importantly self-accountability it takes to become good with women.

Example: You can buy print or eBooks for a very low price, which has tons of information in them, sometimes even more information that would be covered in a three day bootcamp. Then there’s all the different blogs, free content on websites, intro seminars, etc etc that give away a lot of content for free or for a price that is significantly less than what it is worth.

The real reason why gurus and pick up companies don’t mind giving away this information is they know that most people won’t use it to it’s fullest potential. It’s the same reason why a lot of gurus say they don’t care about the people that pirate their products off of a torrent site, they know that those people who don’t pay for it, won’t really benefit from it anyways.

Brad P’s did a fascinating study on the extremely high number of virgins on a popular pick up pirating site and why guys that pirate pick up material don’t ever get laid, even though they have access to every product in the world.

Why Bootcamps Exist and Why they Work

There are a couple reasons why bootcamps get consistent results. First, just the fact that you sign up for the bootcamp, you are admitting to yourself that you need help, and that there is someone that is more knowledgeable out there that can help you. This leaves your Ego checked at the door, which is a huge obstical for most guys.

Sixth, instructors who have taught a lot of bootcamps (20+) have enough experience to know what they can cut out and what is actually valuable. There is sooo much information out there, but most of it isn’t immediately useful. A good instructor can help you cut out what doesn’t get you lair.

Tenth, bootcamps give you individual tailor made help. Even though there is a predetermined lecture, a good instructor will always personalize it to what you need most, and will spend more time in class and in field to help you with those needs.

Recap:

Yes, you can do it on your own.
If you have the self-motivation, self-dicipline, work ethics, and can instill accountability in yourself, you can do it on your own.
There is plenty of free, or low cost information out there, and most of it works, if you know how to filter and make sense of it all.
However, if you had all of the above requirements, you would most likely be a natural and wouldn’t need pick up in the first place.
Knowing this, you can either break the norm and do it on your own, or you can start saving up for a bootcamp.
Either way, best of luck to you in your journey, we are lucky to have a community to support us.

So what did I do about my gym membership?

I signed up for Gold’s Gym, which is well structured, professional, established, and the clients there have great results, that I can see, since everyone there is ripped and buff, which gives me motivation.

And for accountability, I track my results on my Nintendo Wii fit, which measures weight and BMI and keeps a graph, and I hired a personal trainer who filters all the information out there for me, so I don’t have to read a ton of contradictory stuff myself and figure it out, he can just tell me what to do and how to do it correctly.

So what did I do about pick up?

I read every thing I could find. I watched every pick up dvd I could get my hands on. I spent six months wasting my time on mASF. I got really active on my local lair. I found a couple of wings and went sarging three times a week. I got pretty decent on my own. Then I took a bootcamp in Febuary of 2006, had a really amazing instructor and experience, and finally all the pieces of the puzzle started coming together.

Warm Regards,
